Stevens has spent the previous six seasons as the race engineer for JGR’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series No. 20 Home Depot Toyota team. The team captured the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship in Stevens’ first season in 2005 with driver Tony Stewart behind the wheel. Stevens has also been part of the team’s transition to Joey Logano, who captured NASCAR Rookie of the Year honors in 2009 and completed a strong 2010 season with seven top-five and 16 top-ten finishes.

A native of Portsmouth, OH and graduate of Notre Dame High School, Stevens grew up racing dirt late model cars with his father in Ohio. Spending virtually every weekend at a race track since he was a small boy, Stevens worked on cars until he turned 16 and then got behind the wheel until he moved to North Carolina following college graduation.

Stevens joined Petty Enterprises in 2002 upon graduating Ohio University and served in a number of capacities before moving into the role of race engineer.

Stevens and his wife Aubrey live near JGR’s shop in Huntersville, NC with their two-year old son Carter.
